یَٓا اَیُّهَا الَّذٖینَ اٰمَنُوا لَا یَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِنْ قَوْمٍ عَسٰٓى اَنْ یَكُونُوا خَیْرًا مِنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَٓاءٌ مِنْ نِسَٓاءٍ عَسٰٓى اَنْ یَكُنَّ خَیْرًا مِنْهُنَّۚ وَلَا تَلْمِزُٓوا اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْاَلْقَابِؕ بِئْسَ الِاسْمُ الْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ الْاٖیمَانِۚ وَمَنْ لَمْ یَتُبْ فَاُو𐻾لٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la yaskhar qawmun min qawmin AAasa an yakoonoo khayran minhum wala nisaon min nisain AAasa an yakunna khayran minhunna wala talmizoo anfusakum wala tanabazoo bialalqabi bisa alismu alfusooqu baAAda aleemani waman lam yatub faolaika humu alththalimoona
Translations
O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers
Saheeh International
O ye who believe! Let not a folk deride a folk who may be better than they (are), not let women (deride) women who may be better than they are; neither defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. Bad is the name of lewdness after faith. And whoso turneth not in repentance, such are evil-doers
