71:1

اِنَّٓا اَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا اِلٰى قَوْمِهٖٓ اَنْ اَنْذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ یَاْتِیَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلٖیمٌ

Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment

Saheeh Intl

71:2

قَالَ یَا قَوْمِ اِنّٖی لَكُمْ نَذٖیرٌ مُبٖینٌۙ

He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner

Saheeh Intl

71:3

اَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَاَطٖیعُونِۙ

[Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me

Saheeh Intl

71:4

یَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ مِنْ ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَیُؤَخِّرْكُمْ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُسَمًّىؕ اِنَّ اَجَلَ اللّٰهِ اِذَا جَٓاءَ لَا یُؤَخَّرُۘ لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew

Saheeh Intl

71:5

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنّٖی دَعَوْتُ قَوْمٖی لَیْلًا وَنَهَارًاۙ

He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day

Saheeh Intl

71:6

فَلَمْ یَزِدْهُمْ دُعَٓاءٖٓی اِلَّا فِرَارًا

But my invitation increased them not except in flight

Saheeh Intl

71:7

وَاِنّٖی كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُٓوا اَصَابِعَهُمْ فٖٓی اٰذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِیَابَهُمْ وَاَصَرُّوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًاۚ

And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance

Saheeh Intl

71:8

ثُمَّ اِنّٖی دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًاۙ

Then I invited them publicly

Saheeh Intl

71:9

ثُمَّ اِنّٖٓی اَعْلَنْتُ لَهُمْ وَاَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ اِسْرَارًاۙ

Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly

Saheeh Intl

71:10

فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ اِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًاۙ

And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver
