80:1

عَبَسَ وَتَوَلّٰىۙ

The Prophet frowned and turned away

Saheeh Intl

80:2

اَنْ جَٓاءَهُ الْاَعْمٰىؕ

Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]

Saheeh Intl

80:3

وَمَا یُدْرٖیكَ لَعَلَّهُ یَزَّكّٰىۙ

But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified

Saheeh Intl

80:4

اَوْ یَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنْفَعَهُ الذِّكْرٰىؕ

Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him

Saheeh Intl

80:5

اَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنٰىۙ

As for he who thinks himself without need

Saheeh Intl

80:6

فَاَنْتَ لَهُ تَصَدّٰىؕ

To him you give attention

Saheeh Intl

80:7

وَمَا عَلَیْكَ اَلَّا یَزَّكّٰىؕ

And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified

Saheeh Intl

80:8

وَاَمَّا مَنْ جَٓاءَكَ یَسْعٰىۙ

But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge]

Saheeh Intl

80:9

وَهُوَ یَخْشٰىۙ

While he fears [Allah]

Saheeh Intl

80:10

فَاَنْتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهّٰىۚ

From him you are distracted

Saheeh Intl

80:11

كَلَّٓا اِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌۚ

No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder

Saheeh Intl

80:12

فَمَنْ شَٓاءَ ذَكَرَهُۘ

So whoever wills may remember it

Saheeh Intl

80:13

فٖی صُحُفٍ مُكَرَّمَةٍۙ

[It is recorded] in honored sheets

Saheeh Intl

80:14

مَرْفُوعَةٍ مُطَهَّرَةٍۙ

Exalted and purified

Saheeh Intl

80:15

بِاَیْدٖی سَفَرَةٍۙ

[Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels

Saheeh Intl

80:16

كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍؕ

Noble and dutiful

Saheeh Intl

80:17

قُتِلَ الْاِنْسَانُ مَٓا اَكْفَرَهُؕ

Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he

Saheeh Intl

80:18

مِنْ اَیِّ شَیْءٍ خَلَقَهُؕ

From what substance did He create him

Saheeh Intl

80:19

مِنْ نُطْفَةٍؕ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُۙ

From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him

Saheeh Intl

80:20

ثُمَّ السَّبٖیلَ یَسَّرَهُۙ

Then He eased the way for him

Saheeh Intl

80:21

ثُمَّ اَمَاتَهُ فَاَقْبَرَهُۙ

Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him

Saheeh Intl

80:22

ثُمَّ اِذَا شَٓاءَ اَنْشَرَهُؕ

Then when He wills, He will resurrect him

Saheeh Intl

80:23

كَلَّا لَمَّا یَقْضِ مَٓا اَمَرَهُؕ

No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him

Saheeh Intl

80:24

فَلْیَنْظُرِ الْاِنْسَانُ اِلٰى طَعَامِهٖۙ

Then let mankind look at his food

Saheeh Intl

80:25

اَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَٓاءَ صَبًّاۙ

How We poured down water in torrents

Saheeh Intl

80:26

ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْاَرْضَ شَقًّاۙ

Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts]

Saheeh Intl

80:27

فَاَنْبَتْنَا فٖیهَا حَبًّاۙ

And caused to grow within it grain

Saheeh Intl

80:28

وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًاۙ

And grapes and herbage

Saheeh Intl

80:29

وَزَیْتُونًا وَنَخْلًاۙ

And olive and palm trees

Saheeh Intl

80:30

وَحَدَٓائِقَ غُلْبًاۙ

And gardens of dense shrubbery

Saheeh Intl

80:31

وَفَاكِهَةً وَاَبًّاۙ

And fruit and grass

Saheeh Intl

80:32

مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِاَنْعَامِكُمْؕ

[As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock

Saheeh Intl

80:33

فَاِذَا جَٓاءَتِ الصَّٓاخَّةُؗ

But when there comes the Deafening Blast
