مِنْ اَجْلِ ذٰلِكَۚۛ كَتَبْنَا عَلٰى بَنٖٓی اِسْرَٓایٖٔلَ اَنَّهُ مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسًا بِغَیْرِ نَفْسٍ اَوْ فَسَادٍ فِی الْاَرْضِ فَكَاَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمٖیعًاؕ وَمَنْ اَحْیَاهَا فَكَاَنَّمَٓا اَحْیَا النَّاسَ جَمٖیعًاؕ وَلَقَدْ جَٓاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا بِالْبَیِّنَاتِؗ ثُمَّ اِنَّ كَثٖیرًا مِنْهُمْ بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ فِی الْاَرْضِ لَمُسْرِفُونَ
Min ajli thalika katabna AAala banee israeela annahu man qatala nafsan bighayri nafsin aw fasadin fee alardi fakaannama qatala alnnasa jameeAAan waman ahyaha fakaannama ahya alnnasa jameeAAan walaqad jaa thum rusuluna bialbayyinati thumma inna katheeran minhum baAAda thalika fee alardi lamusrifoona
Translations
Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors
Saheeh International
For that cause We decreed for the Children of Israel that whosoever killeth a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind. Our messengers came unto them of old with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but afterwards lo! many of them became prodigals in the earth
