اِنْ هٰذَٓا اِلَّا خُلُقُ الْاَوَّلٖینَۙ
This is not but the custom of the former peoples
Saheeh Intl
26. Ash-Shu'ara
الشُّعَرَاءِ
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبٖینَۚ
And we are not to be punished
Saheeh Intl
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَاَهْلَكْنَاهُمْؕ اِنَّ فٖی ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیَةًؕ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنٖینَ
And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Saheeh Intl
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزٖیزُ الرَّحٖیمُࣖ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Saheeh Intl
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ الْمُرْسَلٖینَۚ
Thamud denied the messengers
Saheeh Intl
اِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ اَخُوهُمْ صَالِحٌ اَلَا تَتَّقُونَۚ
When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
Saheeh Intl
اِنّٖی لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ اَمٖینٌۙ
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
Saheeh Intl
فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطٖیعُونِۚ
So fear Allah and obey me
Saheeh Intl
وَمَٓا اَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَیْهِ مِنْ اَجْرٍۚ اِنْ اَجْرِیَ اِلَّا عَلٰى رَبِّ الْعَالَمٖینَؕ
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
Saheeh Intl
اَتُتْرَكُونَ فٖی مَا هٰهُنَٓا اٰمِنٖینَۙ
Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death]
Saheeh Intl
فٖی جَنَّاتٍ وَعُیُونٍۙ
Within gardens and springs
Saheeh Intl
وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضٖیمٌۚ
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit
Saheeh Intl
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُیُوتًا فَارِهٖینَۚ
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill
Saheeh Intl
فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطٖیعُونِۚ
So fear Allah and obey me
Saheeh Intl
وَلَا تُطٖیعُٓوا اَمْرَ الْمُسْرِفٖینَۙ
And do not obey the order of the transgressors
Saheeh Intl
اَلَّذٖینَ یُفْسِدُونَ فِی الْاَرْضِ وَلَا یُصْلِحُونَ
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend
Saheeh Intl
قَالُٓوا اِنَّمَٓا اَنْتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرٖینَۚ
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic
Saheeh Intl
مَٓا اَنْتَ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُنَاۚ فَاْتِ بِاٰیَةٍ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقٖینَ
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful
Saheeh Intl
قَالَ هٰذِهٖ نَاقَةٌ لَهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ یَوْمٍ مَعْلُومٍۚ
He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day
Saheeh Intl
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُٓوءٍ فَیَاْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ یَوْمٍ عَظٖیمٍ
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day
Saheeh Intl
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَاَصْبَحُوا نَادِمٖینَۙ
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful
Saheeh Intl
فَاَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذَابُؕ اِنَّ فٖی ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیَةًؕ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنٖینَ
And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزٖیزُ الرَّحٖیمُࣖ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
