وَاتَّقُوا الَّذٖی خَلَقَكُمْ وَالْجِبِلَّةَ الْاَوَّلٖینَؕ
And fear He who created you and the former creation
Saheeh Intl
26. Ash-Shu'ara
الشُّعَرَاءِ
قَالُٓوا اِنَّمَٓا اَنْتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرٖینَۙ
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic
Saheeh Intl
وَمَٓا اَنْتَ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُنَا وَاِنْ نَظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ الْكَاذِبٖینَۚ
You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars
Saheeh Intl
فَاَسْقِطْ عَلَیْنَا كِسَفًا مِنَ السَّمَٓاءِ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقٖینَؕ
So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful
Saheeh Intl
قَالَ رَبّٖٓی اَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do
Saheeh Intl
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَاَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ یَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِؕ اِنَّهُ كَانَ عَذَابَ یَوْمٍ عَظٖیمٍ
And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day
Saheeh Intl
اِنَّ فٖی ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیَةًؕ وَمَا كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنٖینَ
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
Saheeh Intl
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزٖیزُ الرَّحٖیمُࣖ
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
Saheeh Intl
وَاِنَّهُ لَتَنْزٖیلُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمٖینَؕ
And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds
Saheeh Intl
نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الْاَمٖینُۙ
The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down
Saheeh Intl
عَلٰى قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُنْذِرٖینَۙ
Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners
Saheeh Intl
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِیٍّ مُبٖینٍؕ
In a clear Arabic language
Saheeh Intl
وَاِنَّهُ لَفٖی زُبُرِ الْاَوَّلٖینَ
And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples
Saheeh Intl
اَوَلَمْ یَكُنْ لَهُمْ اٰیَةً اَنْ یَعْلَمَهُ عُلَمٰٓؤُ𐻾ا بَنٖٓی اِسْرَٓایٖٔلَؕ
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel
Saheeh Intl
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَاهُ عَلٰى بَعْضِ الْاَعْجَمٖینَۙ
And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners
Saheeh Intl
فَقَرَاَهُ عَلَیْهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهٖ مُؤْمِنٖینَؕ
And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it
Saheeh Intl
كَذٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَاهُ فٖی قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمٖینَؕ
Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals
Saheeh Intl
لَا یُؤْمِنُونَ بِهٖ حَتّٰى یَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْاَلٖیمَۙ
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment
Saheeh Intl
فَیَاْتِیَهُمْ بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا یَشْعُرُونَۙ
And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not
Saheeh Intl
فَیَقُولُوا هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنْظَرُونَؕ
And they will say, "May we be reprieved
Saheeh Intl
اَفَبِعَذَابِنَا یَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
So for Our punishment are they impatient
Saheeh Intl
اَفَرَاَیْتَ اِنْ مَتَّعْنَاهُمْ سِنٖینَۙ
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years
Saheeh Intl
ثُمَّ جَٓاءَهُمْ مَا كَانُوا یُوعَدُونَۙ
And then there came to them that which they were promised
Saheeh Intl
